Orientation Refund Policy

The Orientation fee is non-refundable, however we will consider refund requests that meet the following criteria:

 

1. Clear & Compelling Circumstance or Hardship

  • Hospitalization or medical emergency (Injury, illness)
  • Death or loss of loved one
  • Jury Duty 
  • Natural Disaster 
  • Local, state, or national crisis
  • Other clear and compelling circumstance at the discretion of the coordinating staff.

2. Offer of Admissions is rescinded and/or remains rescinded after the result of an appeal.

Students are encouraged to consider submitting an appeal if their Offer of Admissions is rescinded. Instructions can be found linked here.

3. if a student opts to switch their Orientation session from on-campus to remote, they may be refunded the fee difference if the request is made at least 3 business days prior to a 1-day on-campus program, and 5 business days prior to an overnight on-campus program.

 

To request a refund, please email nsp@sfsu.edu with the subject line “Refund.” Please provide your Student ID, receipt, and any relevant supporting documentation as a part of your request. For Summer Orientation, requests will be reviewed at the end of the summer and refunds for approved requests can be expected between August - September.
