Event Description: Join the team from the Division of Equity and Community Inclusion (DECI) as we welcome students back to campus! DECI is under Student Admission and Enrollment Management. The division supports various student life areas including: Asian American & Pacific Islander Student Services (AA&PI Student Services), Black Unity Center (BUC), Latinx Student Center, and the Office of Diversity, Student Equity and Interfaith Programs (student life areas include AB 540/Dream Resource Center, Interfaith Programs, LGBTQ+ Student Life)! It is an open space staffed by REACH Peer Mentors for all students to receive one-on-one support for their classes, study, collaborate, and build community with one another.

 

QTPOC Tea- Community Discussion on Black Queer Identity

Event Description: An opportunity for Gators of Faith to come together to do Projects in a Box, an initiative of Hands On Bay Area. Projects in a Box enables groups of all sizes to volunteer wherever they are by sending craft projects (e.g. decorating newborn onesies) and then distributing the finished products to people in need. Student in need of volunteer hours can fulfill their requirements here! Food will be served.

DECI Area: Asian American and Pacific Islander Student Services 

Event Description: Art can be a form of healing, self-awareness, and a way to move past limiting beliefs. Art is a form of expression and an outlet for others to experience our own realities. We will be exploring the connection between art, neurodivergence, and mental health, and art therapy as a form of self- healing and storytelling. We will have an Art Therapist professional facilitate this session.

Event Description: Interested in learning about other faiths through dialogue? Check out our informational session for the pilot of Building Bridges University Edition! The Office of Diversity, Student Equity and Interfaith Programs is working with Building Bridges Together, a Bay Area non-profit devoted to facilitating dialogue between Jews, Christians, and Muslims, to create an interfaith dialogue module for Spring 2023.
