Hello Gators and happy November!
The New Student and Family Programs is proud to present the second November edition of FroshMemo! This article features a variety of helpful resources, different events happening on campus, and more. Be sure to keep up with each FroshMemo as they can serve as wonderful tools for keeping up with San Francisco State-related information and for getting more engaged with the SF State community.
The Academic Year 2022-2023 Resident Assistant application is now OPEN!
About being a Resident Assistant:
Resident Assistants (RAs) are student leaders in SF State campus communities that connect to residents in many ways! They provide campus resources, mediate conflict management, support networking, maintain community standards, and coordinate fun programs! They also check on academics, personal well-being, and bring awareness on social/global issues! RAs essentially build community and care!

“There’s nothing more fulfilling then being able to offer support for students whether that be in their times of need or even getting the chance to know them. Go gators!” – Grace Aguirre
“While the RA position has had its challenges, it has greatly improved my interpersonal and leadership skills. I’ve also been able to cultivate community and friendships amongst my fellow RAs and residents!” - Rene Marie De Amaral
Finally! A week-long break to breathe, sleep and relax. It’s been a long few months filled with assignments, exams, stress, you name it. This time off of school is definitely well deserved so be sure to use the time wisely and do what you’re supposed to, which is take a break!
Take the time to be with your friends and family, to do something fun, or to just wind down by yourself. Go on a mini adventure with people that make you happy, try new foods that you might or might not like — the possibilities are endless. Also, take this time to reflect on the past few months and to find things that you are grateful for, are proud of yourself for, and so on. Find the positives and use that as motivation for the remainder of the semester and for whatever else you feel needs a sprinkle of positivity.
We are very close to the end of the Fall 2021 semester. Use all 7 days of break to let your mind rest before returning to finish the semester strong. You got this! Go Gators!
We all know school can be difficult and stressful. You may have finished midterms or are still doing some after Thanksgiving break, either way, this is your time to put your books, pencils, computers down and take a break for a day or two before continuing doing your homework. You deserve it.
With the semester being almost over, we walk into our Thanksgiving break. This is your time to take a break, get time for yourself, be proud of everything you have done, even if you have been feeling you have not done anything, you are still existing and we are proud of you. This is the time to go to your friend’s dorm, play games, watch a movie together, eat together, or just leave them a note of how much you appreciate them.
One good place to get distracted from academics is the AS Rack-N-Cue Games Room. You can access the room by going down the stairs inside of the Cesar Chavez Student Center or simply ask at the front desk how to get to the game room. Through this link you can access their discord server and twitch channel: https://linktr.ee/AS_RacknCue and if you still have questions or want to know more about the game room this is a link to their website which also has their contact info: https://asi.sfsu.edu/rack-n-cue/
